What is StayProtect?
StayProtect is a form of coverage offered by Stay to reimburse hosts for up to $2,500 CAD per stay for the cost of damages caused by guests during a stay.
Who is eligible for StayProtect?
Any host on the Stay platform who requires guests to verify their identity by completing level 2 verification is eligible for StayProtect.
Is there any cost for StayProtect?
StayProtect is 100% free to hosts.
What is covered?
StayProtect covers damage to a host’s property, such as furniture and damages to the home itself, if it was caused by a guest, their pet, or someone else they are responsible for during their stay, and is not a result of normal wear and tear.
How does a claim for damages work?
If you have a claim that you believe is covered by StayProtect, you simply reach out to our customer support team at supportteam@stayapp.co with an explanation of your claim. From there you’ll be asked to provide any additional information required to assess your claim eligibility and amount. Once we have everything we need, we’ll contact your guest and ask them to cover the cost of the damages as per our terms and conditions. If the guest does not respond or submit the payment within 24 hours, we’ll proceed with processing your claim.
How will my damages be assessed?
The Stay Claims department will review the information you have provided and determine the approximate current value.
Changes to this Policy
We reserve the right to make changes to this policy at any time at our sole discretion, in accordance with the Terms.
Agreement to Policy and Terms
By using the Stay Platform, you agree to be legally bound by (and to comply with) this StayProtect Policy. You also agree to be legally bound by (and to comply with) the Stay Inc. Terms of Service, as amended from time to time (“Terms”, which incorporate by reference this StayProtect Policy), and any other applicable Additional Terms and Policies incorporated by reference within the Terms. All capitalized terms used in this StayProtect Policy and not defined herein shall have the respective meanings assigned to them in the Terms. For certainty, this StayProtect Policy shall be subject to the terms and conditions set out in the Terms. In the event of any conflict or any inconsistency between any provision of this StayProtect Policy and the Terms, the Terms shall prevail unless Stay Inc. communicates otherwise (for example, by posting a notice on the Stay Platform).
